Vijay Shekhar Sharma wants to buy a Rolex when Paytm hits $10bn valuation

The man who likes his payments cashless prefers his style timeless, Vijay Shekhar Sharma , the founder of Paytm , wants to buy a Rolex watch . Sharma bought his first timepiece from the brand after successfully raising Series A funding. But he lost it while shifting homes. Now he wants another one. Sharma, however, isn’t just walking into a store and buying it, even if he can afford to do that. He will buy it when he meets a target – a $10 billion valuation for his company. “I lost it [the first watch] when we moved to another house. I couldn’t find it. So, I thought, I should again earn the next one,” says Sharma, who normally doesn’t wear a watch. But owning a Rolex, he says, is just to “tick a box”.
