NAWCC - An 'Honorable' Illinois Came across this to-day, an Illinois pocket watch which is not normally my area but thought it may be of interest to show. llinois, remains one of my favourite style of American manufactured wristwatches but unfortunately the prices have been driven too high (in my opinion) by a few collectors. That said they still are amazing pieces , and with a very limited manufacturing volume of only some 5.6 million pieces in their short life (1872 to 1927) it is not surprising their pieces are in high demand. Compare Illinois 5.6m manufactured watches to say Waltham 33.8m or Elgin 50m, we can see why prices are driven so high. What I liked about this find was the 'completeness' - the original box the guarantee and look at that lovely chain with that pretty mother-of-pearl penknife attached - truly lovely The Illinois Watch Company of Springfield named ...
