Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date Watch

I find this to be a rather dissapointing offering from Vacheron Constantin. The retrograde date indicator looks completely out of place. It looks like it was taken from a cheap sports watch, and has no connection whatsoever with the otherwise elegant dial. The moonphase appears to be quite small and it’s surrounded be numbers that are way too large. Instead of drawing your attention to the moon phase, those huge numbers actually distract your attention from it. The movement might be finished to Geneva Seal standards, but it looks dull and uninteresting. Compared to the movements of other similarly-priced watches such as Lange, JLC Duometre, Breguet 7727, Patek, etc. the Vacheron caliber is by FAR the least attractive. Lastly, and most importantly, this is simply a regrettable watch. I mean, if I’m spending almost $40,000 on a watch, I would like to get an amazing timepiece...
