Take a vintage Chevy into the French countryside for a romantic picnic

This is the quintessential French romance that Peter Mayle wrote about. At Alain Ducasse's inn in Provence, a restaurant-with-rooms that's a destination for foodies, guests can now enjoy his cuisine en plein air , too. The chefs at La Bastide de Moustiers, Ducasse's 12-room hotel in the Alpes de Haute-Provence, will prepare you a gourmet picnic, while the inn's sommelier will choose a wine to compliment each course. No problem about driving home, because picnickers will be chauffeured to the idyllic spot, beneath an old oak tree, by a 1950s Chevrolet pick-up truck. Guests arrive to find a table laid with tablecloth and proper wine glasses. Inside the hamper is a feast of authentic Mediterranean cooking, made with seasonal produce from the inn's vegetable garden and from local markets.
