Whisky fan?

From the Highlands to the islands, there are handsome distilleries across Scotland with doors flung wide open to welcome whisky tourists. So, as single malt enjoys something of a renaissance, we've selected five of the best distilleries producing five of Scotland's greatest drams. Each one offers a guided tour followed by the best bit: a tasting. Talisker Talisker has a fine setting beside a west Skye sea loch, giving an unusual salty tang to the distillery's 25 (and newly released) 34 year-old whiskies. You can taste the whiskies in the vaulted barrel room, surrounded by handsome oak containers holding whisky which will sit for decades before it's enjoyed.
