A Close Encounter With Just The Third Of Its Kind: Hands-On With The Legendary Albino Daytona
The very same watch sold at Christie's five years earlier for 1/10th the price. But, it was the Clapton Albino Daytona that, to many, really ushered in the modern era of mega vintage Rolex collecting, immediately following Antiquorum's enormously successful "Rolex Revolution" sale. It was the second highest dollar amount ever paid for a Rolex at the time (we've since seen MANY watch sell for more), and the fact that it was owned by Clapton only made the Albino that much more appealing. There is record of a second Albino somewhere out there, but details are slim. We haven't seen another Albino Daytona, until today.
