Lexus, a leading luxury automotive brand, has sold globally more than half a million of its Hybrid vehicles since 2005 and until the end of November. Lexus sales have steadily grown over the years, supported by line-up expansion and positive market response, going from 26,000 units in 2005 to already 113,000 this year, a company statement said. Today, Hybrid vehicles represent about 25 per cent of total Lexus sales, it added. The RX represents the largest share of Lexus Hybrid sales, with 259,000 units sold globally from 2005 till November. Lexus’ second Hybrid model, the GS 450h, was introduced in 2006 as the world’s first production premium vehicle equipped with a rear-wheel drive full Hybrid powertrain.
