An evening of ice-skating in Manhattan, snowflakes dusting your nose and eyelashes as you glide around the rink hand-in-mittened-hand with a lover, has become as quintessential a festive experience as A Charlie Brown Christmas . The Rink at the Rockefeller Center is the obvious place to skate, in the shadow of the gigantic Christmas tree. There are two in Central Park - Donald Trump's Wollman (pictured ) and Lasker Rinks - and one in midtown's Bryant Park with a Christmas market around the outside. In the Meatpacking District, the Standard, High Line hotel now has its own ice rink, open to all, with views of the Hudson River and the High Line, which stays open until 1am at weekends. There's an adjoining Skatehaus serving glühwein and hot crêpes. Alternatively, adjourn to the Standard's rooftop Biergarten - or, uptown near Central Park, to the ski-lodge-style bar on the roo...
