Amsterdam is so charming and so divine, a city that sings out, lark-clear, on a crisp, cold day. Step into the seductive glories of the Golden Age, and soak up some most mesmerising views in the whole of the watery world. Laced with canals, bridges, cobbled lanes and kooky quarters, it's a city ripe for exploring and the only way to see it is on a bike - tring tring! Two wheeling is a way of life. But any which way, it's a beauty. You can't step two paces without bumping into a masterpiece. The Van Gogh Museum has the world's largest collection of Vincent's mind-blowing work, and then there's Rembrandt's Night Watch that lives at the Rijksmuseum - but wait a bit, it's shut for a snazzy refurbishment until next spring.
