Google Hosting Android Event Same Day as Windows Phone 8 Launch - San Francisco Luxury News

Google sent out invitations for an Android event in New York City on Oct. 29 — the same day that Microsoft will be in San Francisco for the official launch of Windows Phone 8 on devices from Nokia, HTC and Samsung. And Google has scheduled its event event for just three hours before Microsoft’s event , which was announced two weeks ago. So is Google’s timing a coincidence? Not a chance. Precisely what aspect of Android Google wants to talk about isn’t clear in the colorful invite, and the location doesn’t offer any clues. The event is taking place at Basketball City in New York’s Pier 36, a place usually reserved for basketball camps and youth programs — not tech industry events.
