The straightforward silhouette shifts attention to material experimentation, with a focus on transparency and textural variety. Advanced techniques yield unexpected fabrics, at times deliberately crinkled, at times exuding a tar-like black sheen or a graded violet iridescence. Metal hardware is used as a graphic element while shattered mirror elements reflect their environment as well as a multi-faceted reality. Black napa is made to look like silver crocodile while actual crocodile makes its ready-to-wear debut in a pair of luxuriously soft trousers. Paper —featuring a black-and-white print based on a hi-definition botanical photograph by Karl Blossfeldt— is superimposed onto cotton.
