Part submarine, part yacht, part hotel suite – what’s your take on this new conceptual hotel?

From quarry hotels in China to space-age mountain lodges in Italy, this year has seen conceptual hotels with a difference being created across the globe. The latest is the Solar Floating Resort . The concept, by Italian industrial designer Michele Puzzolante, is part submarine, part yacht, part hotel suite. The floating craft that requires no sailing - it is controlled by a pilot - but has the freedom of a boat, which is fitted out to the high standards of a five-star hotel. It is entirely sustainable and eco-friendly; energy comes from photovoltaic panels in the wood-and-fibreglass skin. Puzzolante intends the SFR as an addition to a beachfront hotel or island resort, whereby guests could book the room and anchor at a central docking station or venture out into open sea. The vessel sleeps up to six people in three en-suite bedrooms. There's an open-plan kitchen and dining...
