For the past two years, Paris has attended an incredible opening of the photography market internationally, especially for the post-war and contemporary works, because of the strong attraction to Paris photography. This increase in interest is associated to the important number of international collectors who were there to lead to an important augmentation of the auction prices, particularly at Christie's. Results of sales in Paris are now equal of the ones realized in New York. Woman in Maroccan Palace , sold in November 2011 for €361,000 during the dispersion of a collection of 51 Irving Penn photo’s, is now the second best bid for an Irving Penn print.
