Stella McCartney unveils the Team GB Olympic kit

The team kit that will be worn by the British athletes at the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympic Games has been unveiled. The kit was designed by British designer Stella McCartney, who was appointed by adidas as creative director for this project. Modeled by over 30 athletes, the line is inspired by the Union Jack flag , with printed versions adorning T-shirts and sequinned varieties seen on leotards. However, the red has been removed from the red, white and blue of the flag, instead coming in color blocks on shinpads, shoes and necklines. As well as encompassing McCartney ‘s designer vision, the line incorporates sportswear brand Adidas’s technological advancements such as CLIMACOOL moisture management in clothing and footwear.
